Wispact’s Foundation Director Eric DeGroot paid a visit to Superior Wisconsin to meet with several community service organizations in the area. Eric was hosted by indiGO one eight independent living centers serving Wisconsin. In 2024 Wispact Foundation provided a grant to inidiGO to support their adaptive gaming program.

Wispact Foundation’s Eric DeGroot and inidiGO’s Jill Nyberg met with Dale Johnson and Ciara Johnson with Senior Connections and discussed options for supporting the transportation services they provide in the community. After this visit they met with Jason Rhoads from Microshift Coaching and Consulting. Jason learned of the grant opportunities available through Wispact and plans to advise several non-profit organizations he works with to connect to Wispact Foundation and apply for assistance. In the afternoon Eric and Jill visited Embark and met with their Executive Director Shawna Anderson. Embark recently merged with Twin Ports Guardianship and Shawna was interested to learn more about the potential grants as well as trust services that can be of use to the guardianship staff. Embark is exploring options to create virtual reality training opportunities to build skills for participants in the DVR programming. A stop was made at the Fairlawn mansion, one of America’s castles. Eric discussed ways that Wispact Foundation can support their efforts to make the museum more accessible with Museum Manager Jordan Stish. The visit was completed with a stop at Douglas County’s ADRC where Eric provided information about Wispact Foundation grants and trust services to Chelsea Thompson ADRC Director and Erika Johnson CLTS Supervisor.
